Buhari Appoints Rufai Abubakar As NIA DG

Abuja – President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Ahmed Rufai Abubakar as substantive Director General for the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).

The appointment takes immediate effect according to a statement made available by Special Adviser on Media on Publicity, Femi Adesina.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe on Friday ruled out forming a coalition government after visiting opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai.

“Currently there is no need,” Mnangagwa said about the possibility of forming a coalition with Tsvangirai’s Movement for Democratic Change.
