67 Senators Reportedly Sign To Override President Buhari’s Veto over Electoral Act

POLITICS – Latest report as No fewer than 67 senators have endorsed the move by the apex legislative chamber to override President Muhammadu Buhari’s veto on the Electoral Act Amendment Bill 2018, Newsmen reported.
According to the report, a source in the apex legislative chamber disclosed that 67 senators had already signed a Pro-Senate register seeking to override the veto.

There will be no Nigerian referee at the FIFA 2018 World cup in Russia.
The World football governing body yesterday released a list of 36 centre referees and 63 assistant referees for the mundial billed for June this year.
According to FIFA, the choice of match officials selected to officiate at the finals was based on each referee’s skills and personality, as well as his level of understanding of football and ability to read both the game and the various tactics employed by teams.

UBA London subsidiary gets regulatory approval


United Bank for Africa (UBA Plc) yesterday announced that its London subsidiary has obtained regulatory permission to carry out wholesale banking services in the United Kingdom.
The approval licence was granted to the lender by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), a United Kingdom financial services regulatory body.
The move makes UBA the only Sub-Saharan African bank to conduct banking activities in New York and London, as well as in 20 other countries across Africa.
